Creating a pattern of a surface or volume region

I'm wondering if it is possible to pattern a series of volume or surface regions rather than manually creating each region? I have a bolt pattern that I am attempting to constrain by creating surface regions that represent the cone of compression for the bolted joint. I haven't been able to find a better way that manually creating each surface region at each bolt instance.
