I learned some of AutoCad on a dos based Rel. 12. with a visual tablet. On that tablet was a button that allowed the user to pick an object and send it to the freeze layer. 2004 has the freeze layer routine again but i'm wondering if anyone is using such a "pick freeze" button? Any thoughts will be appreciated. mike

Check out thread thread555-59790 for a link to the Bonus/Express tools, one of which provides that functionality.

Thanks for info. I have 2004 so I have those tools. I am really looking to send an individual entity to a freeze layer. I believe that the Express Tools only allow you to freeze a whole layer...please correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks again. Mike

click on the object to get the grips appears, and the object selected.
now click on the layer box to open the resume of all layers
choose the layer (not the main layer manager box) , does not matter what state it have.
If it is freezed, a warnig box will open to get you acept it or not , do it , and the object will go to the frezed layer and it will not be seen again , until you taw the layer.
