I have read some forums on this site on creating openings in existing loadbearing masonry walls using needling and "pinch beam" methods with channels.
I am trying to understand if these methods would be applicable in creating a triangular opening for a louvres in a masonry wall near the top of the wall of a two story building. I am trying to maintain an existing cornice so the opening would need to shore a couple of feet of masonry above the trangular opening to allow removal of brick below.
I am leaning towards the pinch beam just not sure how this could work in a triangular configuration. Any thoughts or experineces out there, either way?
