Creating datum at Centre of mass

Hi all,

Is it possible to create a datum point at the centre of mass of an object? I am looking to find the acceleration of an object during impact from the centre of mass. I thought creating a datum at the centre of mass then creating a history output at that point would be the best way to tackle this. If not can anyone suggest an alternative method.
