Hello,
I need to create a set of louvers on a curved surface. Here are the set of problems I am running into:

1. General Sheet Metal Design cannot create walls on curved surfaces.
2. So used Aerospace Sheet Metal Design (ASL) to create "web" on a curved surface.
3. But ASL doesn't seem to have louver functionality.
4. Switch back to General Sheet metal module. Issue is I cannot create a louver profile sketch on curved surface/web.
5. Create a plane tangent to surface and sketch the profile using that plane as sketch support.
6. Louvers creating function needs the profile to lie on the wall/support.
7. Switch back to GSD and project the sketch on to the curved surface.
8. Back to general sheet metal module and try the louver again but louver profile needs to be a sketch.

Is there no way to create a louvers on a curved surface in Catia V5 (other than manually do it)? I need to create around 12 louvers and creating manually will be quite tedious. Hoping to get some pointers on accomplishing the above.

Thanks.

How curved is the surface? Could you attach a picture to help everyone understand the problem.

I think the manual method is the only way to do it. I would probably model the center surface only and then use ThickSurface to make the solid louver. I would also do the first louver surface, and than Power Copy the other 11 surfaces.
