I am preparing to take FE exam next April. I have my undergraduate engineering program out of US, So, I think I have to get my credentials evaluated from NCEES credential evaluator.

I want to know how long does it take for NCEES to evaluate my credentials? (I searched their web site for this piece of information but I did not find something useful).

I will appreciate it if there is anyone went through this way before and give me his advice or even recommend a website or forum to take a look on it.

thanks for your help

I think you need to have your credentials evaluated by the state licensing board in the state you're trying to take the exam. They're not too fast in my sate, so I'd get the ball rolling asap!

I went through the process and I must tell you that it can take anywhere between a month to 2 months depending on the state board.

NCEES (actually CPEES) evaluates your foreign degree and compares it to an ABET degree and assigns credit hour equivalencies to your foreign credits. Once the evaluation is done, they compare your credit hours with the ABET required credit hours. Most likely you may end up short with credits in Humanities and Sciences, because your engineering degree would have concentrated on Engineering and not necessarily Biology/Humanities/History.

Then in order to meet your deficiencies, you will end up taking courses in a community college (usually cheaper) and convince your board that you have enough credits. Usually, this is a 2 or 3 semester process.

All I can say is get crankin' and finish all your requirements ASAP.
