Cres 301 = AISI 301???

i m trying to look up CRES 301 properties and AMS number.

but all i found in the mil handbook are AISI 301 under the austenitic stainless steels. IS there any ways i can confirm this?

AISI no longer maintains standards for steel chemical composition. However, the information in MIL-HDBK-5J for Type 301 stainless steel (UNS S30100) is what you need. CRES 301 and AISI 301 are just informal/obsolete terms for Type 301 according to any number of current standards like SAE J405. SAE J405 does not have requirements for mechanical properties though-- these are specified in either ASTM or SAE AMS standards. Refer to MIL-HDBK-5J for more information.
