crosshatching dimension/text boundary

is there a setting to control the boundary around text and dimensions inside a crosshatching (nx4)?

According to an old newsletter I have on hand showing how to use this feature of crosshatching, the text size of the dimensions control the size of the boundary.

See attached...can't recall where I got this from, but it's legit.

I know this, my question is how to influence the the boundary around text and dimensions // the size of the clearance around the text. In some cases the clearance is to big.

And that's exactly what I told you in the post above:

The size of the dimension text controls the size of the clearance/boundary around the text.

In other words, you cannot set the distance, it's automatically scaled based on the size of the dimension's text and automatically adjusts if you make the dimension's text height larger or smaller.
