Hi,
I've got a European customer requesting equipment for the following hazardous classification:
EExdeIICT4

Can anyone confirm my understanding that this is equivalent to Class I Div.1 Groups A & B, Temp Class T4 (135C) ?

Thanks,
Evan

Hi EvanH,

It is strange why there is a considerable delay in replying by our learned members.
Yes, I can confirm that it is “ EQUIVALENT “ to Class 1 Div 1.
(As you already know per NEC 1999 article 505,
Class 1 Div 1 is “ EQUIVALENT “ to Class 1 Zone 0 and Zone 1 defined in IEC 60079.
Gas Group A & B is “EQUIVALENT” to Gas Group II C defined in IEC 60079.)

May I raise this question now?
Since the customer has specified EEx product and not an Ex product, could you buy the equipment for him outside the European Community market such as a Japanese product?

Regards!
Kiribanda :)
