Does anyone have thoughts on providing stop bars, stop signs, and/or cross walk markings at commercial driveway openings? This would be in an urban environments with sidewalks. I have done it both ways and typically use the neighborhood as a guide...if I see them elsewhere or they were there in the existing condition, I have provided them.

In general you only need to define which road has the right of way at an intersection, the junction of two roadways at grade. State Motor Vehicle Codes usually require driveway traffic to yield to all traffic including sidewalk traffic, making the stop sign unnecessary. Where the commercial parking lot entrance is at-grade, a stop sign approved by the local authority may be necessary.
