Considering my interest in biofuels, I've always wondered about crude glycerol purification. Since there is a glut of the stuff due to biodiesel manufacturing, what are companies currently doing to purify the stuff? I know 97% grade and 99.8% grade glycerol has a lot of uses and that crude glycerol is usually 80% pure, but I know little about the actual process itself. I do know companies are doing it, from what I read from Biofuel Digest and the website of Philip and Morris.
