CS pressure vessel with high chloride process

We have a client who wants us to provide a water hammer arrestor for their process which apparently contains 64,000 ppm chlorides. Pressure is 50 psig at ambient temperature. They want to use CS with an internal coating to keep cost down. We normally use ScotchKote 134 for internal coating but they are wanting to see other options. I am not all that familiar with coating for corrosion resistance so any suggestions are appreciated.

There is a paint/coatings engineering forum, but as the thread is started here, we'll keep it here.

It is surprising that there is not an inundation of suggestions to use paint X or coating Y. Of course, all the suggestions are never backed up with any objective evidence of performance. There are several standards available for generic vessel lining considerations, such as NORSOK M-501, NACE No 11/SSPC-PA8, EN 14879-2, but they tend to outline test requirements without actually supplying acceptance criteria. NACE Corrosion 2004, Paper 04034 gives a nice account of a qualification programme for process vessel linings that may be of some assistance.

Maybe you should look for an accumulator of the same style as this, change the size according to your application.

I would use one of these fiberglass units from Blacoh. I have a couple of them on a waste water line and they are holding up very well. Solvent exposure+ waste water with lots of salts. Even an occasional acid exposure.

If your concern is only Chlorides in ambient temperature, you can go for any glass flake reinforced epoxy, Vinyl ester glass flake, or FBE straight away.
