CT secondary voltage limiter

Often people specify to install some form of voltage clamping device to safe guard CT from bursting due to open circuiting during full load. Does any one know or have a record of malfunctions of such devices.

Recommended for you

Very often a spark-gap device is used. They are very reliable and relatively in-expensize...especially on HV CTs, compared to the cost of the overall unit.
