Hello,
I am new to SAP2000, and trying to analyse an aluminium curtain wall with glass infill panels. I have often modelled curtain walls in Robot Autodesk Structural Analysis, and had no problem with that.

To model the curtain wall in SAP2000, I have done the following:
1. Defined and drew vertical bars (mullions) with 2-2 Moment Releases.
2. Defined and drew horizontal bars (transoms) with 2-2 & 3-3 Moment Releases.
3. Defined the glass infill panels as membrane with very low modifiers for Shear and Bending and Membrane (0.01).

When running the analysis and checking the curtain wall under lateral wind load, which is applied to the face of glass infill panels, the deformed shape of the mullions (vertical bars) is not displayed ( maybe too small as compared to transoms deformation), and the bending moment diagram for theses bars are not as expected.

I have attached the model file, and screenshots from RSA that displays the expected deformed shape and moment diagrams for the curtain wall
Please note that, the sections used for transoms and mullions in SAP2000 are different from those used in RSA, so the it is understandable if the value of deformation is different.

Hello

I checked your model
please check the SAP2000
analyze-set analysis options-space frame
run again and your problem is sloved

YINYULAI,

It worked!

Much Appreciated.
