I have modeled the frame of aluminum with the help of section designer. Then I defined glass panels as a shell with their properties. I have connected the external frame and the glass panels using the link elements i.e. Gap and Wen elements in parallel, they both simulate the actual gap between frame and glass, and wen element simulates the gasket that is present on the periphery of the panel. These non-linear link elements are to be connected at the vertices of each mesh that we have created. I disconnected the frame at these vertices to define two zero-length elements at the same location and then applied some constraints at those nodes, then connected the link elements with each node on the frame to the node on the shell. I am not sure whether that is the correct way of connecting two elements in parallel, because I am not getting the non-linear behaviour after pushover analysis. I am attaching the images of my model and the expected results. Please help me with this.
