Hi guys,

I´m doing my thesis and I have to calculate the gaussian curvature with values of Ansys.
Ansys gives me in the etable curvature changes (smisc,12=k11; smisc,13=k22; smisc,14=k12).

What are these values?
I thought it would be the second fundamental form but then the results aren´t very different from the expected results.

Can anyone help me? Thank you so much.

I'm not familiar with Gaussian Curvature. Would it be possible to reverse engineer it by modeling a few cantilever beams with shell181, applying a vertical force at the free end? As the analytical solution is known, you could compare them to the etable values.

Sorry if this is not much help.
