I have been contacting MULTIPLE companies/manufacturers and I have been unable to find one that can build a motor to the specs I need. I was hoping to maybe get some insight from people who might know a little more than me about this.

I have a 28VDC field motor that is 1/2 horsepower and can run at 6150 RPM. Now there are some other requirements, but so far every place I contact says it can't be done. This motor is from 1972! The OEM is no longer in business, but you would think that someone out there can replicate this motor.

Any advice or company contacts would be HIGHLY appreciated. This is going to drive me straight to the nut house!

those are pretty unique specs so I can see why general purpose motor mfgrs would no bid it :)

That said, we shipped a similar motor to air force we designed this year. 28vdc, 12 amps, 7000 rpm.

You just haven't asked the right people yet. But let me warn you: you have left out too much info to have anyone quote you this motor yet. Some other info you need to provide:

- any size limits?
- shaft limits?
- what current is available?
- can it be ac motor as long as a drive is provided with it to run off 28vdc?
- any sealing requirement? IP6567?
- any accel/dec requirements?
- any feedback required? tach encoder? halls?
- can it be PM instead of field wound?
- any min speed requirement?
- any torque ripple spec?
- 1pc? 10? 100? 1000?
- price range?

Reason folks turned you down is this is a very low motor constant motor: Kb=24v/6krpm= 4v/krpm, so it means a Kt of only .55#-in/amp which are mighty low for a 1/2 hp motor.

Thank you for your reply. I do have a lot more information on it, but the companies I have contacted say those specs are unattainable. May I ask what company you work for? This is a military motor as well, and I would not be able to post the information on public forums. Maybe I could send the specs your way.
In regards to your questions here,
-Yes all sizes must remain within tolerance for an existing mount area
-No, it can not be PM, it could possibly cause interference.
-It would only be 3 pieces. For now.
-Prince range is negotiable.
All the other questions would be available in the documentation sent.

My 28vdc supplied 6500rpm motor was for a device we designed for the space station.

Only problem I see with source I know is they may not be interested in field wound instead of PM..... Might I ask WHY not PM due to interference I am racking my brain trying to think of ANY reason a pm version of the same field wound motor could possibly have more interference....
