Hello,

Is it possible in Abaqus to adjust the increments based on the specific time interval?
I have a total step time of 1, between 0.23 and 0.26 I have a maximum with a very steep slope.

I'd like to use maximum time increments of 0.1 or 0.05 globally and for the specific interval of 0.23 - 0. 26
maximum increments of 0.005. To be able to do this would save me a lot of time. I looked up in the keyword
reference manual but could only find the INC keyword which doesn't help.

Is the automatic increment adjustment not performing well enough for you? Can you break the step into multiple steps instead? The controls keyword might give you a little more control over how aggressive/conservative the automatic increment adjustment is, but I don't know of a way to explicitly set the time step outside of running a cosimulation analysis through the CSE.

thanks for the tip! I'm making it harder than it is.

Dear isok89,

I am also looking for a way to make a kind of "custom" time increment.

The keyword *CONTROLS, PARAMETERS=TIME INCREMENT allows you to work on the convergence efficiency. I also find that by using a USER SUBROUTINE you can modify a lot of parameters maybe it is possible to make this...I will look for it but if you find something please tell us (I 'll do the same if you didn't solve your problem).

Please members have a nice day

And do you know a way to assembly the results files form the steps in just one file in order to visualize all the phenomena?

When you work with multiple steps, then it means with one analysis divided in multiple steps. So one analysis = one result file.

Maybe you should start with the Abaqus basics. It seems you have no knowledge about Abaqus.

Yes sorry for that I didn't correctly write my question I agree with you, in my mind before each *end step we precise the output request and in post we can visualize results step per step so the global comportment is divided per step and I wanted to visualize the results in one "step" (don't know if i am clear sorry for that)

But yes you're right I am new to ABAQUS,I will refer to the basics commands in the manual.

btw thank you for your reply!
