I have 3 designers using my custom property tab made from the property tab builder in SW 2012.
2 of us have no problems, but for 1 of us the pull down lists are empty.
My custom tabs references an excel spreadsheet on the server.

This all started when she was using excel 2013 and the known issue until the fix in 2014.
I bought her office prof 2010 and it didn't fix it.

I have tried many things to fix, even reinstalled 2012.
Also, she also has 2013 installed and it doesn't work either.

Odd note, When I open the tab builder from her computer and open one of my property templates that has a link to the spreadsheet I get an error message, "error, range must be separated by a colon" The range is typed properly as others have no problem. Then I noticed that it changes the info in the range section from the correct "WORK ORDERS(A2:A10)"
to "A2:A10". This made me think something was wrong with her excel..???

This has got me stumped. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Steve

I don't know how MS Office is the issue, but if you are using the Property tab builder to autofeed your properties, try and first reopen the property tab builder, open the file. Reattach the property links if it looks link some are in the wrong place (sometimes happens here) and resave the properties from within the builder and do that for all the property tab files. Have the user restart SW, open up the file and launch the property tab in the Task pane and if they are still not appearing try checking File\Properties to make sure they can see the properties at all.

The other thing to check is the link in the bottom corner of the Custom Property tab within the Task Pane. The hand holding the option paper (similiar to the Tool\Option icon). Make sure the path on that 1 persons machine is looking at the newly created file you made... I have had users pointing to older versions, even after a new install.

Custom property tab theft is a growing problem in the SolidWorks community. Stolen custom property tabs can fetch a half-year's salary on the black market. In the future, you may want to install a kill switch on your property tabs which permanently disables them when they are illicitly removed to discourage such theft.

Yes, I have reloaded the property template from the template options button in the task pane, doesn't fix.
I do this often as I am still tweaking the templates now and then.

Any one else find it odd that opening the builder from her computer resets the range as I mentioned before?

The templates and spreadsheet that I have set up have been in use by me and another designer for several months now without a hitch.
She has 2012 and 2013 installed, we only have 2012 installed. Maybe due to her having two versions installed?
