Structural

Good morning. I'm attempting to model wood shear walls using ZIP WALL R-6 insulated sheathing panels. For those who aren't familiar, this type of wall system consists of a wood structural panel with rigid insulation adhered to the inside face (between the panel and the studs). They come with a third party testing certification and diaphragm/shear wall design tables analogous to those in the NDS. They aren't great for shear walls - they aren't quite as strong as an OSB or plywood wall, and because of the placement of the insulation they are actually more flexible than a wall sheathed in nothing but GWB. This is in a moderate wind, low seismic area, single story building so the flexibility isn't a deal breaker. I'm just trying to figure out how to get the strength and stiffness data from the testing group into RISA so I can transfer the loads to the foundation framing (the structure is elevated on an open foundation) with some level of accuracy. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

If you've installed into C:\Program Files\RISA, then in your Documents folder there will be a subfolder called "\RISA\ Wood Schedules\ShearPanels\". This will have a bunch of XML files which contain the wood panel properties from the NDS tables. These files can be edited in Excel.

Outstanding. I'll give it a try this afternoon. Thank you, sir!
