NX 6.0.4.3 I have a detail view that I have cut from the sheet that the parent is on and pasted it on a 2nd sheet. Now, in the parent view label, I want to change the label from the standard "A" to say something like "A (SEE SHEET 2)" or "SEE DETAIL A ON SH 2". When I try to type this in the field it returns a "View letter is too Long" problem. And also I don't see a way to append text to the view label like you can on dimensions and other callouts. Any thoughts?

What about adding your text under the view label and changing the origin so that it is positioned associatively relative to the view label?

Yes, sure. Just wanted to make sure there wasn't something more automatic we were overlooking.

Edit-Annotation-Text allows you to type anything you want. It shows all the formatting, but you can insert what you want, where you want.
Also right click the annotation-prefix, you can change the value from "detail" to "See detail". That also should be available in customer defaults.

The normal additional of a view label for a section, a view or a detail would be SECTION, VIEW or DETAIL there are called the prefix and when adding view labels they can be changed to other wording. So you could easily get SEE DETAIL A to appear by simply double clicking the view label and editing it. What you cannot do so easily is to add the SHT 2 as a suffix.

You can achieve what you asked for using edit text, which threatens to override the view dialog, but seems to do little actual harm. Possibly the better way to go though is to simply use the wording SEE SHT2 DETAIL A by editing the prefix in the way that NX actually supports best.

Best Regards
