CUT-IN CUT-OUT PRESSURE FOR FIRE PUMP and JOCKEY PUMP

I just need to clear my mind on this...how should I specifically design the cut-in cut-out for both fire pump & jockey pump? Appreciate feedback on this. Thnks.

Start the fire pump and note the maximum pressure on the discharge gauge. Let's say the pressure is 150 psi. Jockey pump would be set to come on at 140 psi and shut off at 150 psi. Depending on the type of pressure switch, the fire pump would come on at 130-135 psi. NFPA 20 covers the settings. The difference between 130 – 135 PSI would depend on the type of pressure sensing device. The older Mercoid type of devices are difficult to get a five PSI difference. The newer fire pump controllers using a pressure transducer and a PLC on the controller can be set at any pressure.
