If i need to cut 2 ft of stack strake from an existing stack, how does this affect the vortex shredding check.

In the real world, that design problem and its detailing is not really will refined, and probably not too well codified either. So, there will probably not be much affect on the overall system. But, you don’t bother to say if the strake is 100’ high and its location in elevation on the stack, etc. or if it is only 2’ high on a 100’ tall stack. If I were to remove a couple feet of strake, I’d cut it an inch away from the stack and clean up the cut edge, never even touching the stack itself.
