Hi guys,
My boss has asked me to try to cut a piece of carbon fiber about .125 thick on our Mitsubishi ML3020LXP. I have heard of some people cutting carbon fiber on a laser but I have no idea on where to start on the cutting conditions except for using nitrogen on the cut. Anyone out there have any kind of experience or know of someone trying to cut carbon fiber?

I've seen it done, but rarely. You are actually cutting a carbon fiber/epoxy composite. The fumes from the epoxy are noxious and the cut edge will be rough and gummy. Water-jet is the preferred method.
