Stefan Trapp at the Technical University of Denmark is doing research on the destruction of cyanide in a Turkish Gold mine effluent, as Danmark has no goldmines (except a small one in the lab), and to come into contact with clients is not so easy. We are in contact with Harmony and AngloGold, but the companies could be even more cooperative. We would very much appreciate contacts to any other mines that want to test the ability of willows and other plants to metabolize cyanide, these act as plant nutrients at low cyanide level to form amino acids. Denmark has no goldmines (except a small one in the lab), and to come into contact with clients is not so easy, or offers to share knowledge in designing a demonstration or pilot project.
