I have a problem with a hydraulic cylinder which is working on 3 way proportional valve as i have attached in the pic.. Some time the hydraulic cylinder doesn't go fully up or fully down. It moves up and down but doesnt reach the top and bottom limit switches. I see the pump is loaded the valves are set.It is working since 4 years. What could be the problem. Also can you guys explain the 3 way proportional valve in the diagram

Two limit switches or one position sensor?
The schematic indicates a position sensor on the cylinder...

Yes. Only one position transducer but some times it doesn't fully extend or retract

Well without knowing any real details your options seem to be:

Your Position Sensor isn't calibrated properly
Your hydraulic supply pressure is lower than you need for the load ( passing relief valve?
Your load become greater than the applied load from the cylinder
Your cylinder has a leak in it
The signal to the proportional valve is incorrect

a proportional valve supplies fluid flow in proportion to some incoming signal - whether hydraulic or a signal.
Remember - More details = better answers
Also: If you get a response it's polite to respond to it.

Maybe You can upload a video of the problems to youtube and we might be able to tell you what might be the problem.
