Daates and Scatter Plots

Does anyone have a method to format the axis of a scatter plot such that the first day of each month or the first day of each quarter, etc. is labeled?

I know you can set the label frequency to a certain number of days, i.e. 30 or 90, but that quickly gets off the desired label frequency.

Thanks in advance for the ideas.

use an increment of 91.3125, and then format the dates so the day doesn't show?
