Hi, I am trying to simulate the ductile machining of fused silica on ABAQUS but I am struggling with the damage properties of fused silica. Currently, I only input Density, Elastic and Plastic on Material Properties.

As we can see from the gif, there is no removal of material. I wonder what damage properties should I use for the fused silica in order to realise material removal.
Thank you very much.

Built-in damage models available in Abaqus may not be sufficient to accurately describe the behavior of this material and thus you may have to use subroutines. But I would start from plasticity (maybe Drucker-Prager one) with ductile damage.
