Hi All,
I am trying to simulate ductile damage. However, I am getting the following warnings. The Abaqus manual says that these variable are available and C3D8 works for damage model. Also, I am getting another type of warning on strain increment!
---------------------------------
Output variable dmicrt has no components in this analysis for element type c3d8
Output request shrratio is not available for the material for element type c3d8
Output request triax is not available for the material for element type c3d8
Output variable dmicrt has no components in this analysis for element type c3d8
Output request shrratio is not available for the material for element type c3d8
Output request triax is not available for the material for element type c3d8
---------------------------------
The strain increment has exceeded fifty times the strain to cause first yield at 3040 points
The strain increment has exceeded fifty times the strain to cause first yield at 388 points
Excessive distortion at a total of 374 integration points in solid (continuum) elements
---------------------------------
Please suggest!

The first set of warnings simply tells the analyst that the requested output variable will only be generated for a specific type of element. For example, hydrostatic pressure is irrelevant for truss elements.

For the 3rd set of warnings, open the odb in the Viewer, Create Display Group, and see the distorted element set by highlighting it. If these are away from the area of interest, then don't worry about this message (unless these elements are assigned an interaction or a soft material behavior).

I am not sure about the second set of warnings.

Thank you so much for the reply.
I understand. BTW, I am using 8-noded brick element and Abaqus manual says it does have damage initiation criteria (dmicrt) output!
I will see the odb as you said, however, I am afraid the distorted elements are attached to a stronger material. Basically, I have sandwich (soft core and hard facesheet) and there are ties!

Also, does anybody has idea about this element... or, if any other element for regular geometry can be used that have dmicrt output?
