Hi Folks
i am looking for literature on the sizing narrative to select electrical actuator for dampers on industrial ventilation ( torque etc)
are you aware of any reference ?

The damper manufacturer specifies a minimum torque rating. often they also specify some common actuator models. but based on the torque number, you select the actuator.

If that information is not available, look up a similar damper and add some safety margin. Make sure the damper is well maintained (lubricated and not corroded shut).

Be aware of duty cycle for electric actuators. An actuator rated at 25% duty cycle that constantly 'hunts' for a position will break down in short order. Control parameters like deadband can help to limit 'hunting'.
