Dashed Lines Not Showing in Paperspace 1

Does anyone know how to get dashed lines to display as dashed lines in paperspace, in ACAD 2006? All lines are continuous in paperspace, but I have some dashed in model space. Come to think of it, differing line weights also don't show in paperspace.

See thread555-168990 for the last time this came up. A lot of people chimed in and reading their responses might help you understand what is going on. Basically none of the ideas put forth worked--to make a line thick enough in model space to show up in paper space you have to be working on a really small part or zoom really far in.

You can get dashes to show up by setting the line scale parameter in Properties. Usually you have to set the gap REALLY wide in model space to show up in paper space.

I don't know if these annoyances have carried over to 2007 and 2008 (2006 does everything I need and I haven't even considered "upgrading"). They are sure a hassle in 2006.

The whole setup is made OK if you scale linetypes to Paper space. Try Format / Linetype / Use Paper Space Units for Scaling. Use Hidden, Hidden2 and HiddenX2 as needed. Works for me...

sometimes getting dashed lines to display in paperspace is as easy as doing a regen.

2007 still has the same line scale limitations. I typically live with the ltscale set to .75 for paper space and deal with the model not looking right. I’ll do the minimum work I have to do in model space and work as much as I can through the PS viewports.

I have come across posts in the past where people have said that they have written lisp routines that can change the ltscale automatically when you switch spaces, but have not actually gotten my hands on one. You could setup a few tool buttons with your common ltscales, if you have just a few scales that you typically work with. Say, if your working at 1”=100’ ^C^Cltscale;100 would change your ltscale to 100

Also check that your psltscale is set to 1 if you have viewports with different scales on your layout sheet.

IFRs - Thanks, it worked. Haven't resolved the line weight issue yet though.

After a closer look, I figured out the line weight question. Even ran a test print and all is well. This is what worked for me,

1. Select the viewport in paperspace.
2. Select the lines you want to add weight to.
3. Click "Properties"
4. Click "Lineweights" and change to whatever thickness works.

That's pretty straight forward, but it does change the lineweights in model space, as mentioned above.
