Data Collection from DTE device

Hey,
I was wondering if anyone knows how to collect data from a DTE (Data Terminal Equipment) on labVIEW. If anyone has an example that shows some kind of data collection from a serial port device that i am using, it will be really helpful.Thanks

Search for serial or VISA in LV help/examples, there are some vi's there. It may also be wise to start with Hyperterminal to verify your cabling and data com parameters (baud, parity, etc)
