I'm considering a dc drive which consists of two six-pulse bridges (i.e. 12 pulse converter). One of the bridges is supplied through a wye-wye transformer and the other through a wye-delta.

I'd like to simulate current harmonics produced by this system and I'm looking for a recommendation of the software to use (i.e. MatLab, Multisim, etc.). I'm curious in seeing how harmonics change if input variables are varied.

* My experience in Matlab and Multisim is limited, so I'm looking for the simpliest and most accurate method of performing the above simulation.

Thanks in advance

Hi Tony,
I have done some harmonic simulation in ETAP using VFD's and tested the programs capability of modeling upto 36 pulse VFD using 6 pulse drives. It is fairly simple. I can email you a screen capture of what the circuit would look like for 12,18,24,30 and 36 pulse drives along with the required phase shifts.
