We are designing an amine scrubbing unit for the offgas from a NHT. Our design fuel gas sulfur spec is 10 ppmv H2S. An older reference said that DEA cannot go this low. The promax simulation shows that it is achievable. Can I believe the simulator?

depends on pressure. If the pressure is under 100 psig, you may not make 10 ppm. Best bet is to always specify at least 250 psig to make 4 ppm. And yes, sometimes the simulator will be wrong, thats where you have to know some of the limits.
