i need to shore up a vertical wall at 1st floor level. how far apart do my needles have to be?

piranha, this is a very general question, the answer of which depends on a lot of different parameters such as wall height, type of soil, loading on the soil above the wall, etc. You probably should seek advice from an engineer who can review the actual conditions and provide you with the proper recommendations.
