Dear All,
I would like to check a reinforced conc. (ground bearing) foundation under vertical&moment load.The Base size 6x6x1.4m The problem is that 150mm Dia. 6m length of hole is in the base section. The centre of 150mm Dia hole is 100mm from the top of base.

Could you tell me is the foundation will effect from the hole? If possible what assamption we should make?

Loading Data:
Vertical= 936 kN
Moment = 2320 kN

Thank you very much

As long as this hole is not located within 250mm of the EDGES of the baseplate, I wouldn't worry about it. If I were to analyze it, I would check the load capacity using a reduced section that had a depth of 1200mm (Aprox. bott of hole to bott. ftg.)

BTW, I would also increase my footing size to bring the resultant into the middle third of my footing. Not knowing your bearing capacity parameters, you may be okay as is.
