Another day in Paradise. I had an engineer hand me a PDF, and asked if I could make a 3D model of it. To my knowledge, there is no way to do this...or is there. I'm on NX8.5 and was wondering if there is a way to convert a PDF to a 3D model or at least convert it to a .dwg/.dxf. Keep in mind that our I.T. dept. is cheap, and won't pay for a PDF convert, or is there a batch file that I could run from the command line that would do this?

@flam04 You could try a method that I worked out using a free package called Inkscape.
is the link to one of our videos that shows how to convert an image to vector.
Inkscape can read PDF files so it might work for you.

nice one Anthony, great program, converts PDF straight to dxf..

Thanks guys the Aide PDF to DXF worked great. I didn't even have to have I.T. install it. You may have just saved an engineer.

Here is a web site that I use for free file conversions, there is a pay option.
It is very cool.
I am not sure if I should post link; so remove it if no a legal post.

It is a service that you have used and liked, and it is an answer to the question at hand; I see no reason that it would be an "illegal" post.

Now if it turns out that you work for them and you are spamming the link all over the forum... That's a different story! I've seen a few of those people "dismissed" from the site.

no I don't work for them
just a very cool free service

inkscape works great, but you'll also need to install the add-on called "inkscape-pages-1.2.1.exe" then it can handle multi-page pdf's
