Hi All.
Has anyone been involved with deep box foundations for large bridge structures in soft soils? It is typically constructed of a secant pile box such as in the images below. We have a project of which this is the preferred solution as it makes the most sense, however due to the settlement criteria the bridge team has set out, monitoring and load testing will be critical.
If someone has been involved with similar projects, I am interested to find out how load testing of such as structure has previously been undertaken as well as how it was instrumented to monitor settlement?
