WHAT IS THE DEFFERENT BETWEEN TYPEGRADE A WITH B 0F PIPE STEEL?

You need to know what steel you're talking about API??, ASTM ????

Then look up the properties for that grade and type of steel.

If its API 5L,grade A is a lower SMYS than Grade B(35,000 psi).

Also look at ASME B 31.3 - you'll find most of the data you want there.

Many years ago API tried to eliminate Grade A from 5L as no committee "users" used it . But the mills reported that there was still use in the "3 rd world" so it remained in the spec.

A106 GrA has a 30,000 psi yield.

Tensile and Yield Strength (PSI) e.g. ASTM A106 Gr.A 48K & 30K, Gr.B 60K & 35K, Gr.C 70K & 40K. There is also corresponding difference for longitudinal and Transverse Strip Tests.

Higher Yield Strength will result in a thinner calculated wall thickness.
