Does anyone know of an equation(s) to use for determining the ground surface deflection of a pile that is laterally loaded?
I know of M.T. Davisson's work from 1963, but are there any others that I could use for comparison?

Maybe Evans and Duncan 1982. These are charts though, I believe.

If deflection calculations are important, I recommend a soils report. And then you will need the proper software to assist you. As BigH's formulas show, this is complex.

I believe that LPile can do this.
