Deformed Rivet = square peg with a round hole

Has any one found a way to create a rivet that can be deformed into a mushroom shape? It could be the weather this morning but I'm having a hard time figuring out how to constrain/control the sketch that is flat in the purchased form into a part that is mushroom shaped. It feels like I'm trying to fit a square peg in a round hole!
Any hints or ideas would be greatly appreciated!

I think there is no regular way for this. We have also the same problem. We use various types of special "flat spring plate". It is purchased flat, as rectangle plate, but in various assemblies this plate deforms according to shape of the supports. There is no way to control flat shape to radius-curved shape. The only way for us is to use number of different reference sets. Every reference set represents fixed deformation.

You can use deformable part or have a look at part families where you can define different kinda shape all in one part.

Best regards,

Michaël.

I am affraid, but deformable parts will not help in that case. How you can deform straight line into the arc?

One more thing: also in that case reference set = part family

EEX23,
Deforming the straight line into an arc is my square peg in a round hole.... the only way I could see this working is possibly through law curves but for what its worth I don't have the time to figure it out. I'm just going to create another part that has the deform shape in it.

What about modeling the mushroom as a separate feature/unite and using suppression by expression to control the mushroom head? Perhaps set up an expression such as "formed_length" and if formed_length < stock_length, unsuppress the mushroom head feature.

Cowski,
That's a great idea! I will give it a go and let you know how I make out!
