Hi,

I am looking to size a degasser at a high level (i.e. I don't yet need to specify liquid levels) and wondered whether I should size it for a horizontal two phase or three phase? At first I thought two phase, but then wondered that maybe I need to consider three phase because as well as degassing, it is effectively the last level of separation of oil. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

The flowrate is 32000 bpd.

Cheers

Its unclear to me wether its water or oil you are degassing. Assuming its water: The oil level should be so low that i can't see how it would influence the water retention time. Remember that the desired retention time shall be applicable at normal level - and that this should preferably be at 1/2 full (in order to maximize the surface area.
