Would anyone or everyone like to see a delete option (right-click)in PDMworks for your $working directory. I think this would be helpful when cleaning up files in $working directory when PDMworks is open. It's a pain having to do this in my computer/windows explorer.

When you check in the files to the vault, check the 'delete' boxes.

Yeah, I have that checked. I was thinking about some of the miscellaneous items that you collect from time to time. Reference drawings for example you realy don't need to put back into the vault.

macduff,
I know this is not the answer to your question, but thought maybe it might help someone.
When we started the PDM system, I checked into the PDM 1874 files. I never deleted any files from my working directory. Opening a drawing of a small part, would take about 7 minutes. My VAR responded by saying that, “I should delete any unused files in my working directory”. I have done this ever since and had no problems since. If someone comes to me and wants me to open an assembly drawing from the PDM I will either move my working directory or put the newly opened files somewhere else. I never mix projects anymore. The theory behind this as I under stand it is that PDM will compare each file you are opening with each file in your working directory, which takes time.

Before you delete from 'working folder', make sure all is checked in that needs to be checked in.

ctopher is absolutely right. We had an Engineer that hated the PDM for just that reason. I had to get the files he worked on, off his C:\ Solidworks backup directory. It was not the PDM’s nor SolidWorks fault. He knew he checked in his work, but really didn’t check them in.
