Hi,

For structural steel, can someone please explain the difference between delivery conditions? I am asking specifically about as rolled, normalized and "normalized rolling" for structural steel?

Thank you

All steel plates and shapes are formed by rolling. Normalizing is a process to improve the ductility.

'normalized rolling' is a practice where you control the rolling temp and cooling rate.
The other option is to roll, and then do a furnace normalizing treatment.

Some spec alloy in process heat treatment (such as 'normalized rolling') and some don't.
If they don't prohibit it then it may be OK, but they still have to meet all properties.
