I'm working on a project that requires electro magnetic to hold the part but after switching off the magnet. It is difficult to remove the part because of temporary magnetic effect. Does any one have any suggestions how can I demagnetize the part on the machine..

If it is a DC electromagnet you could try to reverse the current with a lower value.
If it is an AC electromagnet a ramp with decreasing current lasting a few cycles is another possibility.
Also if you can replace the core of the electromagnet with a soft iron piece... prex

assuming you have made a small eletric crane with a DC source, the key is to eliminate all ferreous materials except the part you are holding. When the field turns off the part will drop. If you want the part to drop instantly... If you want to demagntize the part then the previous answer to the thread applies.
