Hi
I am looking for ideas on how I can retrofit in denitrification to an existing facility. The plant is an RBC plant, with tertiary upflow sand filters. Plant flow design is 45,000 gpd.
Aha, you might say, convert the filters to denite filters. That was my first thought, until I found out these are Andritz filters, bed depth 40", and these filters aren't really designed for denite. I am considering 2 options:
1) install a denite tower, with a type of plastic media ahead of the existing sand filters. Does anyone know if there is a mfr who makes such a unit?
2) Most likely option, scrap the Andritz and put in a regular denite filter.
Any suggestions or recommendations?
thanks
