Hello,
In the part I try to change Density in Material Properties by typing new density .10 lb/in^3, but old density
.30 lb/in^3 comes back. Material not specified.
Where is my mistake?
Thanks

Hi,
I can change density before I specified material.
If I specified material and removed material I cannot change density by typing in Material Properties.
Thanks.
When you create a part, it will default to the material specified in your part template (.prtdot} file. Once you specify & then remove a material for a part, that part will no longer have any material properties assigned to it & therefor, none to be edited.

Can you make changes after re-specifying a material?
Just curious, why are you removing the material?

If you are repeatedly using a material that is not listed you can add a new one. I did it many times but have been away from SW for almost 2 years now so I don't remember how it's done anymore.

1. Open part template without specified material.
2. Make a part.
3. Specify material.
4. Remove material.
5. Change existing density to 0.10 lb/in^3; new density will not appear.
6. Specify material (second time).
7. Remove material.
8. Check density; you will see 0.10 lb/in^3.
I repeat my question ... Why are you removing the material?

You can enter 150lb^ft3 all day but once you hit enter if Tools\options\units are not set to feet then it will just convert it. Don’t worry it took you just have to tell it how to display it.
