Depth of root surface concavity ASME b31.3 1

Depth of root surface concavity-------------Total joint thickness, incl. weld reinf., ≥ T w

Can someone help me interpert this. I am trying to find the max. allowable concavity but haveing some trouble applying this.

Tommy,
The RT interpreters take the density of the parent metal and then compare with the possible root concavity.
If the suspect area in the weld metal is darker (more dense) than the parent metal then it doesn't comply.

There is no defined depth. As long as the thickness of the deposited weld metal including reinforcement is greater than or equal to the thinner of the materials welded root concavity is acceptable.
