I am trying to model a bored pile in STAAD. The diameter (d) of the bored pile is 2.5 meters. Lateral subgrade modulus (kh) as indicated in the geotechnical report is 6600/B (MN/m3). I am planning to put spring every one meter of length of the pile. Hence, I am thinking of the formula below:

KFx = kh x d x 1 = 6600 MN/m3 x 2.5 m x 1 m = 16,500 MN/m

Is this derivation correct? If not, can you share with me a good reference on how this spring constant is derived?

Thanks!
