Hi,

how can i create a derived sketch in nx part model as in solidworks? is that option available?

What would be the exact function? Are you talking about creating a link between two different parts?
or just deriving geometry from the part where the sketch is to be created?

NutAce,

I want to create a feature cut. this cut repeats every pitch 4 in, 60 Deg like in a helical path(not exactly). here cant use pattern, need to create these cuts as a separate feature. pls see below image.

In NX, rightclick the feature, Make sketch external.
- I suppose that you want to pattern or move a copy of the sketch and create new features. ?

- instead of asking how to duplicate the solid works command, ask how to accomplish the task at hand.
We might propose better solutions then.

Regards,
Tomas

Hi Toost,

Yes,i want to move a copy of the sketch at 4 in and 60degree to create new feature.

as i create separate sketch, making external not needed. My question is how to move this sketch to different position? also the sketch should be derived/linked with first sketch, so that changing one will update all other sketch and features.

Hello,

maybe I wrong, but I think - pattern feature and layout - helix?

Best regards

MANox,

No, its not exactly helix path. The feature repeats after 4 in but 60 deg from immediate last feature position. I am exploring move/rotate feature option. will update if i get a breakthrough.

Thanks.

Hello Ignx,

I don't uderstand what You want do.
I think something like this:

Between every sktech is that same dimension (in Z axis), and that same angle - 60 deg.

Cutouts are the same, if each is different?

Best regards

MANok

MANox,

yes, dimension in z axis i.e pitch remains same. and all sketches are same dimensions.

can you please share the model or explain how you got that? i want it in such a way that changing dimension in first sketch should update in all other features.

Thanks a lot MANox. its really helpful.
